Culmination of project GreenPlantFood (2020-2024)
Laura Gil Martens, Chief Nutritionist, R&D Manager, AM Nutrition
The closing meeting took place at NOFIMA, Ås, Norway on 9th and 10th of December where main findings and innovative outputs from the project were presented by expert scientists.
The GreenPlantFood (GPF) project aimed to contribute to re- aligning the farm-to-fork food systems towards a more sustainable and “green” value chain. GPF focused on pulses and cereals grown in Norway.
A shift towards an increased use of plant-based food has positive effects on health and the environment. There is, therefore, a strong need to search and develop new, healthy and attractive plant-based food products.
These goals were achieved by GPF project in close collaboration with the industry and Research institutions.
The outcomes of GPF are a contribution to maintain the National Food Biosecurity, employment, and the competitiveness of the Norwegian agricultural sector and food industry; besides being a valuable platform for further development of plant-based solutions at international level.
In July 2024, a delegation from the GreenPlantFood project visited the AM Nutrition fractionation factory.
